Privacy Policy
This policy covers Snout 1.1.0, including Survivor Files, photo cropping and pixel portraits, Battle Reports, local statistics, optional exports, feedback tools, and support correspondence.
Snout is a single-player game with no account registration or public community feed. Core gameplay runs locally. You may create a Survivor File with a callsign and an optional portrait, then generate a personalized Battle Report after a defeat or successful extraction. Snout does not upload or host your survivor archive.
The local archive stores your callsign, cropped source portrait, display portrait, and pixel-effect preference. Each completed run records its completion date and time, outcome, stage reached, survival or clear time, kills, level, and weapon, together with the callsign and portrait used when the run ended. The app also stores lifetime deployments, successful extractions, total kills, and best clear time. When you submit feedback, you may provide your email address, a written or voice-transcribed note, and photos you choose to attach. If you contact support by email, we receive the message and any details or attachments you choose to send.
Snout uses your local portrait and callsign to personalize your Survivor File and Battle Reports, and run data to display history and lifetime statistics. Cropping and the optional pixel-art effect are processed on your device; they do not identify you or authenticate your identity. We use information you send to support to respond to your request and troubleshoot the game. Optional feedback media is handled only after you choose the related feedback action.
TAKE PHOTO requests camera access to capture an optional survivor portrait. CHOOSE PHOTO opens the system picker so you can select a portrait. The feedback attachment action may request photo-library access to select photos to attach to your feedback. SAVE TO PHOTOS requests permission to add your generated Battle Report image to Photos; it does not require browsing your library. Permissions are requested when you choose the relevant action. You can cancel photo selection or decline access and continue playing with the default soldier portrait.
Microphone and speech-recognition access is requested only when you choose voice input in the feedback screen. The microphone captures your speech so the device speech-recognition service can turn it into editable feedback text. Depending on your device, language, and system settings, the operating system may process audio using its speech service under the platform provider's privacy terms. Snout does not use the microphone for gameplay or background listening.
The archive retains the latest 20 Battle Reports while lifetime statistics continue to include older runs. Portraits referenced by retained reports remain available even after you change your current portrait. SAVE TO PHOTOS creates a separate image in your photo library. SHARE REPORT opens the system share sheet with an image containing your portrait, callsign, completion date and time, and run statistics; choose the recipient or app, or cancel. Snout does not automatically publish reports. Receiving apps and photo-library or device-backup services handle copies under their own terms and settings. Snout provides no account-based cloud archive or synchronization service. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes the archive from that installation, but does not delete exported, shared, or separately backed-up copies. Feedback and its attachments are shared only with the support channel needed to review your request. Support correspondence is retained as reasonably needed to handle the request and maintain support records.
In SURVIVOR FILE, edit your callsign or replace or remove your current photo, then tap SAVE SURVIVOR FILE. These changes apply to future reports; retained historical reports keep their original callsign and portrait. There is currently no in-app control to delete individual historical reports or reset lifetime totals. To remove the archive from the installation, delete the app; remove exported images separately in Photos or the receiving app, and manage backups through your device or backup provider. Revoking a permission does not erase already stored images or reports. You may change camera, photo-library, microphone, and speech-recognition permissions in device Settings. Contact support@snout.com about support correspondence or privacy requests; support cannot remotely access or erase your local survivor archive.
Photos, callsigns, and report sharing are optional. Do not include private information about a child in a portrait or shared report without appropriate permission. If you believe a child sent personal information to support, contact support@snout.com so we can review the request.
We may update this policy when the app or its support process changes. The updated date will be shown on this page.
