Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a run?

Tap START GAME and move with the on-screen joystick; weapons automatically target nearby enemies. Choose a main weapon after Stage 1, collect pickups and upgrades, defeat the Stage 5 boss, and reach extraction.

Why does Snout request camera or photo-library access?

TAKE PHOTO uses the camera for your optional survivor portrait. CHOOSE PHOTO opens the system picker for an existing portrait. The feedback attachment action may request library access to select photos to attach to your feedback. SAVE TO PHOTOS requests permission to add the generated Battle Report image to Photos. If access is denied, you can continue playing with the default portrait. To try again, review Snout's permissions in device Settings. If saving fails, also check available storage. SHARE REPORT opens the system share sheet and does not require saving to Photos first; you can cancel it without sharing.

Why does Snout request microphone or speech-recognition access?

These permissions are used only when you choose voice input in the feedback screen. The device speech service turns your speech into editable text and may use platform speech processing depending on your system settings and language. Snout does not listen in the background. You can type your note instead if voice access is declined.

How do I create a survivor file or export a report?

Open SURVIVOR FILE from the home screen and enter a callsign of 1 to 18 characters. Optionally take or choose a photo, drag and zoom to frame it, tap USE THIS PHOTO, and enable Pixel portrait if desired. Tap SAVE SURVIVOR FILE to keep your changes. After defeat or successful extraction, open BATTLE REPORT and choose SAVE TO PHOTOS or SHARE REPORT. Reports include your portrait, callsign, completion date and time, stage, survival or clear time, kills, level, and weapon. Recent reports are also available in your Survivor File.

Where are my records stored, and how can I change or remove them?

The app keeps your archive locally, including the latest 20 reports and lifetime deployments, extractions, kills, and best clear time. Older reports leave the recent history while lifetime totals remain. Edit your callsign or use Remove photo in SURVIVOR FILE, then save; previous reports retain their original identity. Individual report deletion and a statistics reset are not currently available. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes the archive from that installation. Delete exported images separately in Photos or the receiving app, and manage device backups separately. Snout has no account-based cloud sync or remote recovery. Export reports you want to keep.

How can I contact support?

Open the feedback screen in the app and send a note, or email support@snout.com.

Still Need Help?

Include your device model, iOS version, Snout version, and a short description of the issue. For photo or report export problems, mention which action failed and any message shown. Attach a screenshot only if you choose, and remove private information you do not want support to receive.
